THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS HEREBY INVITED TO THE PUBLIC MEETING OF THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 11 OF THE ISLAND COUNCIL COMMITTEE ORDINANCE WHICH WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, 1ST SEPTEMBER 2025.

    The commissioner of Agriculture, Ms. Recheline Leerdam, formally introduced the agenda point to the Central Committee.
    Presentations were delivered to the Central Committee by Dr. Kimani Kitson-Walters (Directorate of Economy, Nature & Infrastructure) and Dr. Sharon Veira (Department of Veterinary Services).


    This agenda point was discussed.

    The Commissioner of Finance, Mr. Reuben Merkman, introduced the agenda point.
    The Unit Manager of Finance, Mr. Tuitt, presented the 2nd Quarterly Implementation Report & the 2nd Budget Amendment.


    This agenda point was discussed.

    Decision

    This agenda point has been forwarded to the Island Council meeting scheduled for 11 September 2025.

    • Commissioner Merkman extended his heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Randolf Duggins on his appointment to the Raad van State (Council of State), as a local of Sint Eustatius.
    • Commissioner Leerdam announced that she will be travelling together with the Island Council to attend the celebration of Dia di Boneiru (Bonaire Day) and to participate in the BES Summit from 3-8 September. Following these engagements, Commissioner Leerdam will continue to Curaçao for a scheduled meeting on 10 September regarding the Saba Bank.
    • Chairman Schmidt informed that Council Lady Lopes-Spanner was in the meeting earlier but had to leave for personal reasons.

    The meeting adjourned into the Closed-Door session at 6:45 PM (Statia time).
